Plan
Plan a small-home community
Four tools take a project from a real California parcel to a to-scale layout you can walk through with your team.
How the planning tools fit together
- Find a parcel. Parcel search queries the county's own public GIS service from your browser. MicroHom shows only the fields that county sends back.
- Lay out homes. Open the parcel in the community planner and place home types. Costs use cited public data; anything not yet sourced is marked and left out of the total.
- Check the walls. The Block Builder counts hempcrete blocks for a small home using a published US block price.
- Walk it with the team. The 3D Walk lets an owner, builder, project manager or inspector move through the same to-scale plan.
Planning only. These tools produce concept layouts, not construction documents. A licensed California architect or engineer must prepare or review anything that is built.
